Tin Toys!
Got my Uni results for the first year of the course at last! Managed to get 68%, which aren’t half bad when they tell me that barely anyone gets more than 70%. Huzzah! Popped out to Basildon to visit our favourite Chinese buffet place, Aroma, then shopped a bit, and in the Works I came across this rather lovely book for 7 quid:
352 pages of full-colour photos of Japanese Tin Toys! Hells yes! I've loved these things ever since I saw a exhibit of them at Epcot. Here's evidence:
RARR. Anyway, yes, Tin Toys rock, and so does this book which has loads of them, and at £7 it was a steal. I personally only own one Tin Toy for my own: it's Bender from Futurama in a Pink too-too complete with a cigar that only cost me 2 at a boot sale boxed like new. I still find these things mighty inspiring though, especially the robot ones. They have such a quirky charm. Even more inspiring is the artwork on the boxes they came in, which unfortunately this books doesn't have many of, but I have a photo her of a load from the Epcot exhibit:
And here's some more photos for fun.

Just a little while ago a doodled some of my favorites from the book.
