Koalas with Katanas

Been a while since I've done one of these eh? Still aiming for a minimum of 12 if I can. This is the 6th so I'm half way there, and I have another one in the works.

Where have I been?

Not on this blog that's for sure! Most of my online updating has been on Twitter because I've gotten lazy like that. So what have i been up to since I last updated here in.... 1st of June? Christ.

One weekend in July me, my parents and Stacey spent the weekend up at Alton Towers (Flickr photostream here), which turned out to be cheaper to stay in one of their hotels than we expected. It was good old fun it was! never been to this park before (or any British park for years in fact) but I loved how it was all amongst a real forest and a real old estate (as opposed to a built-to-look-old thing). In the end I think my favorite ride there was Air, we ended up going on that twice. They even have a new Sonic ride there now (or rather an old ride with Sonic art slapped onto it) which of course I had to write all about on Sega Memories because I'm like that.

Clearly though, THIS was the true highlight of the trip.

The weekend after that me and Stacey popped up to London to meet a bunch of guys I known from DevinatArt, some whom I've met before and some all the way from the Netherlands! We popped into a Sherlock Homes museum on baker Street which was pretty spooky with all the wax models. After that we moseyed about near some old war boat and then popped into Forbidden Planet. Roger even made a series of animations about the day, including a very accurate portrayal of everyone oo-ing and ahh-ing at Stacey's artwork!

Summer of Sonic (Flickr Photostream here) was near the start of August and this was just amazing, they really outdid themselves this year! Even Stacey enjoyed it and she's not really a Sonic fan as such. Again articles galore and a bunch of videos were posted over at Sega Memories.

Also at the start of August I did a two week work experience placement with an animation studio in Soho. First time I have been in a proper animation studio environment, but it was over so quickly I kinda miss over. Tell you what though, I have another placement with another London studio in November, and am currently working to get one between now and then too!

I've also been drawing quite a lot lately, so for those who don't regular DeviantArt I should get around to posting them here, shouldn't I?
